Welcome
Thank you for visiting
the Alabama Army National Guard's Chaplain's Page. I am proud to say that our
chaplains are committed to the ministry to which they are called, and they are
professionally trained to serve soldiers and their families. Most of our
chaplains are pastors of local churches, while others are prison chaplains or
teachers. Also, we now have a full-time chaplain at the Joint Forces
Headquarters, Chaplain (CPT) Wylly Collins. Thus the chaplaincy has a
constant presence within the military family.
I borrow a phrase when I
say that "we are here for you." However, I am sincere in my desire to
communicate that to you. Whether you are already a soldier in the Alabama
National Guard, a family member needing support, or one who is interested in
becoming a chaplain or a chaplain's assistant, this page provides information
and contacts to assist you.
The Alabama National
Guard consists of the Army and Air components, and there are chaplains within
both. We are directly involved in the war against terrorism. Since 911,
chaplains from both the Army and Air National Guard have deployed to Iraq,
Kuwait, and Germany. As we face the future, it is certain that more chaplains
will answer the call to duty.
The Alabama National
Guard is a wonderful place for one to serve both God and country. Contact
us at 334-213-7534.
May God bless you richly,
CH(COL) James D. (Jim)
